THE TEAM BEHIND PIE
Alessandro is a pioneer in AI-powered investment management, with 17 years building and operating machine-learning systems that dynamically manage portfolios and risk, while translating complex AI concepts into investor-friendly language.
As Co-Founder, CEO and CIO of A.I. Machines (AIM), an investment advisory and financial technology firm operating fully autonomous AI for investment portfolios, he oversees the design, deployment and continuous evolution of AIM’s proprietary prescriptive investment engine (PIE), which automates data processing, asset forecasting, risk management and order generation across the firm’s AI-powered strategies.
As Portfolio Manager of the A.I. Machines Global Managed Risk Fund (UCITS), he directs a GTAA strategy with a 19-year systematic track record, with the fund run entirely by PIE since June 2017. The fund holds the longest fully AI-powered fund track record globally and ranks #1 in the mixed-asset flexible sector since strategy inception.
Over a 25-year career that includes senior roles at multi-billion-dollar asset managers in London, Alessandro has traded across major asset classes using a range of approaches, including equity long/short, multi-asset strategies with overlays, and systematic futures. He holds a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Bologna.
